includes materials I find in the home.  For a series of books set in the pacific, I used real coconut for the beach and a bathroom mirror for the sea. Food such as chocolate was used,

which became sticky work! For the Hawaiian story I used real kapa cloth (also known as Tapa cloth in New Zealand) which is a cloth made from bark. I used clay and plastic plants for other elements. Everything about this style is about tactility, fun and enchantment.
